Lovely day at Mersea

Early start for Monday runday as the weather was so hot. 5k run up and down the streets at West Mersea.  Very hot so glad to finish.  Set up chairs on the beach and went for a cooling swim in the estuary riding the waves. The tide was a long way out, so decided to use a gravel sandbank to reach the sea. My shoes shredded on the way and so I planned the short-cut back over the mud. This was more slippery than anticipated leading to a tumble.  Filthy, I had to abandon the plan and return to the sea for a rinse.

After changing, we chatted for some time 'till lunch ... fab fish finger sandwiches - perfect!

Then chance to do a bit of people watching, chatting, painting and finally a second swim once the tide was high. A delightful school trip of Juniors behaved so we'll that they warranted a comment to the teacher. I said that they were a credit to their parents and the school ... we found out from Wansted Flats.

Home before being cut off by the rising tide. Then a snack for tea before Spanish class. Getting tough , with lots of verb conjugations. Lots learned again. Homework is to write and learn off-by-heart a restaurant script.

A perfect day
