Light fantastic
Elbows has headed off to Holland for a week. He went by train from Kings Cross which makes so much more sense than flying.
I enjoyed walking the dogs, despite the intense heat and then went to a funeral at a Crem so near me I could walk. The service was for a wonderful Christian lady who was in my Bible Study Group through Covid. A gentle woman. Her husband and children are not Christians and God and Jesus were not mentioned in the service. It made me really sad. It was a deliberate white-wash over her faith as they had asked her church not to be involved.
I went home and got stuck into gardening, needing frequent water breaks. Boy it was hot.
And in the mid-to-late afternoon, 3 of us headed to a lake in Oxford for a long-ago booked swimming lesson. It was a group session and so so useful. All of us had bad habits noted and correction advice. The hour wasn’t going to sort the habits out, but obviously not being able to see yourself swim, it was great to be helped. I look forward to my next swim …
Grabbed a burger at the lakeside cafe and drove home. A varied day to be sure.
