Two Glaswegians and an Edinburgher Go Out
Another sunny day here although from hearsay it may be the last one for many days. It’s such a joy to amble along to the slip when it’s calm and sunny and watch the little fishing boats plying their trade as they make their way out of Hamnavoe. The tide was at its lowest which means a lot of seaweed to swim through and I seem to attract the long tendrils or laces which wrap round my arms. However the sea was as warm as it’s probably going to get and the swim was as lovely as usual.
I had time for a quick coffee at Flori’s, which I unusually had all to myself, before I was picked up by Selkie Sally and her friend to go for lunch to the Barrier’s Café. When you find yourself in a car with two Glaswegians you know you will have a hilarious time, and I did!
Not wishing to miss out on dessert we headed home to sit at the knee of John Rae licking our ice creams and watching the world go by.
The only sour note of the day was discovering that for the second month in a row my Premium Bonds yielded nothing. Just when you could do with some holiday ice cream money there’s not even a miserable £25 to help out
