New Growth on an old tree (Widwed020725)

One of the trees at Charlecote which looks to be developing new growth after some serious damage - possibly from a lighting strike? 

Far sharper seen in large?

Still quite hot here (for the UK) but with quite a breeze and possibly less humidity?  Set to be cooling down over the next couple of days.
