Fruit, Ready to Harvest

This is called a "Prickly Pear", and believe it or not, the juice from the fruit of this otherwise ominous-looking plant is used to make jams and candy. Harvesting it might be a bit hazardous, but the result is "supposedly" well worth it. I have to say supposedly, because I have to admit, I have not tried it yet. But I plan to and I will report back.
