I think this is a geranium?

Thankfully the stifling heat abated somewhat today. A full 10c cooler than yesterday with a little rain this morning.

We spent a very enjoyable couple of hours with an old school colleague this morning. Not seen Stuart since 1988 until the other month when we turned up with other colleagues from the 1980s at the memorial service for one of the staff from those days.

It was wonderful to catch up properly after all these years and to meet his partner who for the past 30 odd years has been a name on a Christmas card. Both fascinating people who have a hoard of life experiences together and were also very interested in our experiences. I suspect they may be visiting us in the Lakes in due course.

Not such a pleasant afternoon as we spent it at Doreen’s house giving the garden some attention to keep it looking good for the next occupiers. We understand they had a survey done last Friday, we’re hoping there’s nothing untoward found.
