Brighter weather
It was - as forecast - grey and a bit drizzly this morning, and rather humid. I managed to stay more or less dry on my cycle up to an 8am coffee meeting, but was not so fortunate as I then navigated to leave my bike outside EFI (thinking to collect it after a lunchtime meeting), into the Chrystal Macmillan Building (thinking my 9.30am meeting was there) and then finally across George Square, encumbered by a very heavy pannier (to find my actual 9.30am meeting in 50 George Square). It absolutely tipped it down through that meeting, which overran slightly, so by the time I left just before noon, it was finally drying up so I didn't get quite so wet getting back across George Square to collect the bike and cycle it back to Old College (as my meeting in EFI was cancelled). A typically complicated morning.
Anyway, I was safe in OC for the afternoon, and when I did leave there about 6pm it was sunny, so I decided to cycle down to Newhaven Harbour to treat myself to takeaway fish and chips and get a much sunnier blip of the sea. It was fun to watch the tenders taking people to and fro the enormous cruise ship I could see anchored out in the Firth. I hadn't realise until I carefully inspected the photograph that there were three smaller boats out in the Firth, including two with sails, and an aeroplane coming into land at the airport. What fun!
I'm glad the bad weather for the week is hopefully over and done with today, as I wouldn't want tomorrow spoiling with rain!
