I only went into town to get my new specs. That was pretty much the limit of my exercise.
I wasn’t firing on all cylinders today but that was okay. Still did a few bits and the temperatures were down to a more than acceptable level (actually had to wear a cardigan tonight).
Just finished reading the astonishingly tender and at times beautiful Alan Hollinghurst novel "Our Evenings". You don’t have to be gay to get the themes of love and loss, and there is a deep rooted and angry sentimentality about how Britain has changed for the worse whilst staying the same. A big, complex, heartfelt book.
