While on my runs

Very wet

When I was about to leave to walk to the station, the skies opened, and emptied vast quantities of water. My House Officer expressed surprise that I would walk about a kilometre in that rain. The rain eased as I set out, and then wind and rain attacked me, but I felt good about getting to the station, relatively unscathed.

Logged on with my Hop Card, and then realised I had left my phone when packing up to go home. Remembering to log out, I went back and the rain punished me for being forgetful. Was about to go upstairs to the staff offices, and became conscious that my phone was in my trouser pocket along with a handkerchief. Another kilometre in the rain. before sitting on a bench. Txt'd S to let her know when I would reach New Lynn.

BUT!  The sign showing that the next train was due in 1 minute stayed at that for 3 or 4 minutes. And then the arrival was listed as being in 3 minutes. I began to feel really grumpy, as my wet clothes started nto make me cold

As it turned out, the train which was apparently due in 1 minute when I got back, arrived after ten minutes. Concerned that she might be wondering where I was I decided to track her with my phone, and discovered that she was still to arrive at the car park. The traffic was disrupted by the rain.

She was there in less than a minute and we headed home, as the rain eased a little. When we got inside at home, I gave her my phone to take today's blip to show how bedraggled I was

I've added as an extra my attempt to carve a chess king out of a piece of Kauri
