Thistle-down

Spotted as I headed back to the car following a walk around Windlemere SANG, a relatively new nature area I found locally last year. It was formally a 9-hole golf club which closed around 2018 and is now a rewilding project. If you look really hard you can still see the structure of the fairways and  bunkers, some of which are now small ponds, though sadly rather dry in the recent heat and lack of rain.
