The axolotl coincidence

A busy day back at the ranch, lots of meetings and of course, no time for lunch (hmph) because my implementation of scheduled lunch breaks hasn't kicked in yet.  Make of that what you will.

At one point in the afternoon, I was having a text conversation with L about Folkie and I got confused, because there was a mention of acolytes. "Did you mean acolytes?" I said, wondering about Folkie's secret religion that I'd possibly missed the memo on.  "No" she said, and after a pause "axolotls". Good old auto-correct. So we had a giggle and an exchange of axolotl GIFS.

Running later than planned from my last meeting, I just missed the train I was aiming for and ended up waiting for the next one (15 mins later).  I had been listening to an audio book but realised I wasn't really actually listening to it, so I stopped and allowed my mind to wander.  I started re-reading the earlier text conversation and as I looked up from my phone, I absolutely promise you, the next person who walked onto the platform was carrying a cuddly pink axolotl toy wearing a disposable mask (the axolotl not the person).  Sometimes you cannot make life up.  I don't know what Folkie is up too, but she's having a bloody good giggle at this mischief somewhere today.

Blip: Sometimes the Universe is telling you to look at the bigger picture in order to enjoy it in all its madness.  I didn't ask to take a picture of the axolotl toy because frankly, there are not many conversational openers to "nice axolotl, can I take its picture on my phone?" that didn't sound weird in my head, so I decided to combine my thoughts and take the thing that most resembled an axolotl in close-up my garden*.  The bigger picture, of course, reveals what it is...**

*Clearly this plant in no way resembles an axolotl but I'd like some credit for trying.

** Feel like this might be the most number of times anyone has ever written the word axolotl in one page, with the exception  JR Hartleys "Compendium of Axolotls Part IV”
