IT'S THURSDAY, SO IT MUST BE...
...Community Fridge day. Another hot day, so one of my jobs was to take glasses of water out to our customers, many of whom had been queuing for over two hours in the sun.
Lots of jobs done and lovely chats with the customers - we had lots of goodies and about 30 bouquets of flowers. Most of those went - it's so good for our customers to be able to have these and give them to loved ones, when they probably wouldn’t be able to afford them - some of them were priced at £20 so bargains today. I must admit I wasn’t very keen on the lilies, as they make me sneeze, so I kept away from them.
After making sure that all the kitchen surfaces were clean and cleaning the various sinks, I left to go and visit my friend, Jean, who is in a Residential Home. Sadly she doesn’t get out of bed very much, so I just sat by her bedside and chatted with her. She remembered a lot of her past, including where she went to school and when she got married, so an interesting time with Jean. When I left, she said “Please come again”.
I was quite tired when I got home, so have had a rest and am now ready to cook our evening meal. Thankfully, it is a little cooler now, so we may even sit in the garden this evening.
I really should do some housework tomorrow, but bearing in mind that a friend gave me a fridge magnet that says “I don’t do any housework on days ending in “y”” - that may not happen - apart from which, I have a good book to read! M xx
