It's felt like a non-stop day! Very busy at work, then the cleaner came, and then we went out to do the recycling and deliver the bags that G had been filling to the charity shop. All donations were happily received. Phew!
We then headed to Wafi, where I wanted to get a new cool daylight bulb for my bathroom. The new cleaner knows where he can borrow a ladder to put the bulb in for me. Unfortunately, after all the scrutinising on the shelf, I brought home a warm white bulb. Argh. Fortunately, a dimmable white bulb I found in the morning worked, so it wasn't a wasted trip for Mahendra.
We had dinner whilst we were in Wafi. I have to say, Lebanese cuisine is one of my favourites, and it tasted all the better today as we haven't had it in weeks. :))
And I have to record the knock on the door this morning. It was our watchman surrounded by three people from Dubai Municipality. They were going house to house (or should I say, flat to flat) inspecting for partitions. We have had a spate of fires in the city recently, and it seems multiple occupancy is an issue (like we didn't know). I hope there is a solution to the acute shortage of affordable housing. And that was Thursday!
PS. Our friend, Hilde, celebrates a milestone birthday today. We had looked into being in Germany to celebrate with her, but sadly, it didn't work out. I hope the goodies I ordered via Amazon.de make up for it. AND I got to speak to our cleaner, Nara, for the first time in weeks. He looked and sounded good. The new cleaner informed me that you can make WhatsApp calls on your phone, using a VPN! Amazing.
