Just so I remember where I live
Here I am at Silverstone! I've been looking forward to this for about a year now, a whole weekend of camping and car racing, totally my happy place. And all on my own so four days of pleasing myself. It does mean that things like putting up Hannah's handy little storage tent I need a bit of help from the buggy boy (self professed scout leader) so it didn't blow away while I pegged it out. (Bless him, he was great). And despite having proper mental checks last weekend of where I put the bin bags, I now have absolutely no idea where they might be, every potential location checked multiple times now.
Before all this, I drove to the Oxford and met the wonderful Lesley at a superbly appointed pub by the river for lunch and top catch up. Lots of chat including the upcoming changes of youngest children going to university in September meaning the activities and things I have very happily had in place for the last 20plus years are now done and it's on to doing as I please. It may be said I have been doing that for a while now but we are both planning to step it up to new levels. Brilliant stuff.
My campsite is great, just across the road from the track. A nice bar area with a big screen (which is sadly now showing golf instead of tennis) and it's a gorgeously sunny evening. Because this is my holiday, I have a nice pile of new books to read. Am well chuffed with everything.
And if you hear anything of the Grand Prix this weekend, think of me. I'm in the Landostand, this is where we sat last time in 2022 when it was plain old fabulous Stowe. Now I'm going to be with all the fan girls who have been making Lando friendship bracelets since last September. Many nails and outfits have been planned across the social medias, I'm planning for plain shorts and tshirt tomorrow with my normal broken nails.
And I do need to find a bin bag from somewhere.....
