Abstract Thursday ...

... water, water, everywhere.  Nor any drop to drink. 

Okay ... who can tell me where those lines were said?  Any guesses?

Today was almost perfect with sunny skies and low humidity.  That is until we left for our picnic supper!  And then the skies opened up to torrential rain, lightening and loud thunder.  But since we had already picked up some sandwiches and were on our way to Jacobsburg State park we tried to make the most of it.  Thankfully they had a rather nice pavilion that we took shelter in to eat our sandwiches.  But it was just too wet to take a walk afterwards. 

We were hoping to stop at Walmart on our way home but when we got there we had to sit in the car and wait for the heavy rain to stop.  It never did let up so we bagged that idea and headed home.  Tomorrow is supposed to be even better than today so we have made plans to go the Minsi Lake for some July 4th kayaking.  I hope the forecasters are right this time.

In other news ... while I was out in the pool this afternoon the handsome American Goldfinch I've added into Extras stopped by the new finch feeder for a nibble.  Surprisingly he allowed me to get much closer than I was expecting.  And, no, I have not enhanced him at all.  They really are this beautiful, bright yellow.
