Slopping Out.

Today’s entry is of a ceramic slop bucket or pail. Mrs ‘Dog’ gave this to Pat as a present, remarking that ‘we seemed to collect them.

A search showed that we have three which is one for each bathroom in our home. 

There is evidence of these ceramic pails being used to empty ceramic wash basins in homes such as Hill of Tarvit.

The ceramic basins were not connected to the drainage system.

All of our sanitary fittings are fixed to our drainage system. No slopping out required.

The only practical purpose is to use them as litter baskets.
