Harter Fell

Today we had earmarked for a walk in the fells with Rebecca.
The weather was was not ideal - mountain weather forecast said blustery with rain later, expect buffeting on high fells with the potential to be blown "off feet"
So earlyish out the door and down to Mardale Head for a go at Harter Fell..
We climbed up past Small Water on to Harter Fell and descended down Gatesgarth.  We can confirm there was buffeting :-)  The clouds were flying down the valley but there was the odd spear of sunlight.  Harter Fell summit was clouded in unfortunately and too cold to hang around on.
The blip is a view back down our route around Small Water and down to  Haweswater. We ascended just over 2000 feet and hiked 5 miles and then dropped into the Mardale Inn a fine community run pub in Bampton for a celebratory quaff and to warm up :-)
