Friday: Return of the Wind
Very windy this morning and the odd spot of rain as I did a some gardening. Today’s jobs were potting on small clumps of 2 varieties of Leek - Elefant and De Carentan 2 - they are so tiny, having been neglected :-((
I repotted a small carnation, which I think was from a supermarket, removed dead flowers and outer roots - the compost was bone dry so it got a good soaking. Planted it at the centre of a large pot of fresh compost then planted seedlings of Calendula and other annuals.
My ankles feel much better today and I was able to wear my gardening boots with their new insoles, which are becoming more comfortable.
Today’s Blip is of part of the garden which I can see from our settee indoors, I think the grass is Stipa tenuissima -
https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/58857/stipa-tenuissima-mexican-feather-grass-texas-needle-grass/details - which moves gently in the wind, apart from days like today when the wind is like a hurricane!! :-((
Rain arrived late afternoon which calmed the wind down a little and the garden is already looking fresher!
Watched last episode of “Death Valley” on iPlayer, and now hoping there’s a Series 2.
Loads of love and hugs to all my family / Cariad Mawr
