A day in the life

I finished the last job on the painting-the-house project today, the veranda door got a lick of paint to make up for the lack of paint that was there before. I thank me for doing it, it saved me the rent of a month and a half and I know my landlord, and his wife, are really happy about the result. So am I.

In the early evening I was invited to the premiere match of the Swedish ladies football team against Denmark in the European masterships, directly from a tv in the living room at some new friends, a young couple with a child, in Skogsby, a couple of km away from where I live. They bought the house of my old friend Torgny, a well known troubadour and composer, who I used to play music with a lot some years ago. He died three years ago, his house was a mess because he got sick and couldn't take care of his house or himself anymore. The memories from his last days in the house has followed me and it was such a relief to see the lovely home this new couple has created for their new family. They completely renovated the house and I could hardly recognise anything in there, apart from the huge Finnish stove in the living room. It felt like I can let go of the bad images from inside my head now and think of Torgny in another light.

"We" won the game with 1-0. Not that I'm wildly interested in football but sometimes one of the teams play really well, which can make the game interesting.
