Roses are Red

Elderly friends for lunch today. It was fun and I got to cook something different from the norm. As it was a hot day we chose not to eat in our conservatory and not outside in the breeze either as a couple of them have mobility issues so negotiating steps would have been tricky. Lots of interesting conversation but it did really feel rather like a geriatric entertainment. That sounds mean as I'm no spring chicken, but perhaps a mix of ages is best. 
We are really hoping for some rain in the near future. The lawns will recover but farmers are getting lower yields of hay than normal and it's likely that other crops will not be as plentiful.
