Fledgling Great Spotted Woodpecker ( D major )

The D stands for Dendrocopos but despite the lovely long text box for the title you can only use two thirds of it!   Why?

The weather wasn't bad, well not if it had been late October!  It rained steadily for most of the day and for a change when it wasn't raining steadily it rained heavily.  There was no way I was going out looking for a blip. Fortunately there were plenty of birds to come to the rescue.

Currently the garden is alive with this years fledglings.  This young GSW visited a number of times and as yet it hasn't learned it is supposed to be timid and fly away at the first sign of movement.
