The Boat and the Bath

In honour of the superb weather which might change later we went on one of our favourite days out.
We parked at Powderham Church quite early and walked  to the Turf Hotel along the Exe Estuary. Had coffee. Carried on along the Exeter Canal to the ferry point. Crossed over to Topsham.  Visited the second hand bookshop, and had a sandwich on the quay. Retraced our steps and had a drink at the Turf.  There were damsel flies all the way on the path. Black tailed skimmers to be exact. On the ferry it was mentioned that Duran Duran performed in the Powderham grounds last night, and there were some fans en route, most of them  in their sixties and seventies. Like the group.
The Pride of Exmouth was on the canal travelling from Exmouth to Exeter. 
The extra is at the Turf - a surreal addition to the garden. There is always ( except today) someone sitting in the bath, often reading. Not me though, I wouldn’t be able to get out.
