Heron at Sunset

Our resident heron. I liked the light this time around. Always more to learn about these birds. Like, herons can swim. They have adapted”bib” feathers that grow continuously and fray into a fine cleaning powder used to groom the entire body. The dagger-like bills are used to impale. In fact, I know of one heron that impaled a 2x4 & required a medical extraction. NannaK ( HCB)
