Roman Peterborough

Once my visitors arrived we went for a walk taking in some of the Roman remains around the Nene valley - crossing and recrossing Ermine Street, pondering the fate of the 9th legion once stationed at Longthorpe near my home. It was a gorgeous afternoon and we also enjoyed watching a swan family on the river.
