Five years ago my brother-in-law bought me a Strelitzia (bird of paradise) plant kit for Christmas. It contained 5 seeds of which 2 germinated and have grown into beautiful large plants. According to information, it takes several years before they start to flower. In Tenerife they are growing and flowering freely and look beautiful!
