Fourth of July
My years in Washington DC were good. In my mind it is still "my home town". I lived in Capitol Park, the New Southwest, in a complex of apartment buildings and town houses by architect Chloethiel Woodward Smith. I was in the seventh floor and from my balcony I could watch the Fourth of July Fireworks at Washington Monument.
Sixty years ago. Washington was herself. I was young.
