Preston Tower Open Day
It was the Preston Tower Open Day, down the coast in neighbouring Prestonpans, so Martin and I trotted along to the 14th Century Tower.
It was very interesting, with appropriately dressed ladies telling us some history of the tower and surrounding lands.
The extra is of the Doocot, which provided ample pigeon meat and eggs to the tower at the time. As you can see the Doocot is now occupied with pigeons of the knitted kind. Can you spot the Pigeon Pie and Mary, Queen of Doocot?
After that, we had a wander down to walk along the coast.
We had a nice chat with this elderly couple we had walked from Musselburgh, who proceeded to give Martin a tube of fruit pastilles. Some people are just so kind.
Now. Back home relaxing with a cuppa.
