Embellishing

Several of us had a go at a new experience at UFOs craft group. Our host today was Roger who is a skilled crafter and a perfectionist. He has an embellishing machine which looks a bit like a sewing machine but there is no thread in the half dozen sharp needles. Fibres of unspun wool are laid on felt or other firm material and the person doing the embellishing moves the material and fibres under the needles whose speed is controlled by a foot pedal, just like a sewing machine. It is quite addictive and can be put to a number of uses such as abstract art or patching a hole in a garment. It was great fun with (near) instant results.
It was a wintry weather day with wind and rain so we enjoyed our individual tasks indoors, warm and cocooned from the unseasonal weather, refreshed with tasty coffee and Roger’s delicious lemon meringue pie and amused with lots of banter.
