'Tender Persistence'
On our way to a very windy parkrun today, I spotted these buttercups, growing high up in the weathered hollow of a very old, and otherwise naked, tree trunk at the side of the prom.
A bit of a contrast to today’s ‘extra’ taken just after we’d parked the car - this huge cruise ship making its way along the Forth and completely dwarfing the ‘battleship’ Island of Inchkeith.
It was the ‘Regal Princess’, nearing the end of its round Britain cruise from Southampton, and making its way to Le Havre and Paris, before returning home.
While not a ‘floating resort’ mega-ship like the new ‘Icon of the Seas,’ it's actually both as long and, with 19 decks, almost as tall. However, because it's only half the width, its capacity of around 3,500 passengers is, perhaps mercifully, around only half!
