Scarletina bolete

Spotted this in Hamilton wood this morning. I don’t think I’ve seen one before.
I finished cutting back my forsythia. It’s about half the size it was. It was so out of control. Did lots more work in the garden then came into the house to discover a flood in the kitchen. The whole floor was covered in water and it was seeping into the hall carpet. I wanted to run away instead of dealing with it. With hindsight that would have been easier. I was mopping up the water, wringing the mop out in the sink, not realising that the water was pouring out the waste pipe into the cupboard under the sink, then out onto the floor again. I was so intent on mopping up the water I hadn’t looked for the source. Turned out the waste pipe from the washing machine had detached itself, so the washing machine had drained onto the floor.
Try as I might I couldn’t get the pipes to connect again, but Suzy came to the rescue and did the job. Thank goodness!
