Dutch tales

From Rembrandt to Vermeer

My Nijmegen brother and I went to Amsterdam today to the Hart museum. We were there to see an exhibition with paintings from the Leiden collection. The biggest private collection of Dutch masters. The American couple that owns these paintings strive to put them on exhibition whenever they can. So everybody can enjoy them.

The exhibition went from a room filled with paintings by Rembrandt moving on to other masters and pupils of Rembrandt and ended with a solo piece by Vermeer. Very nice!

In my blip some Rembrandts and the Vermeer but also Frans Hals and Jan Steen.

The H'art museum used to be the Dutch Hermitage, cooperating with the Russian Hermitage.  Of course they can't do that any more so the museum has found other partners and changed the name to H'art museum. To me it still is the Hermitage though.
