Survivor

This diamondback terrapin was trying to dig a nest hole in our driveway today. I did not poke or touch her but walked toward her to encourage her to go in a shrub bed that was close and would be a much safer place for a nest. If you look close you will see she has been hit by a propeller at some earlier point in her life. There were two chunks chopped out of her shell but no serious damage done from what I could see. Quite often the terrapins come up in our yard and lay eggs. Nature surly is entertaining!
