4th of July
Dick and I bucked the normal 4th of July activities and made a reservation to have dinner and listen to the Mel Brown Trio at Salty's Waterfront Seafood Grill which I'd not been to before. An iconic Portland restaurant, it's been around since 1980. The views and food are unparalleled!
We opted to have a drink at the bar to start, and enjoyed our view and the bartender so much that we decided to have our dinner at the bar too. Actually we've both always enjoyed sitting at the bar - it seems more social and I love being close to my companion - more intimate if you will. At any rate, we had an absolutely superb dinner. The bartender was attentive and extremely helpful with food and wine selections, especially the gluten free bit. We were both so very impressed. And at the end of the meal he delivered a gratis Creme Brulee and gluten free macaroon to us, which we ate with pleasure!
The music was fabulous and the sunset was so gorgeous last night - our very own fireworks!
