Death of a tree

Poured all day, though it didn't stop this farmer from working in the field opposite the house. And yes, there's only one of him, the centre photo is a composite of four photos taken over a half hour period. the surrounding set is the felling of the tree. It was a stubborn thing, after about an hour of chain sawing, it still refused to fall, so a rope over a branch and a tug from his pick up finished the job.

Always sad to see a tree go - especially an oak, but it was getting dangerous and branches were likely to fall on people walking below!
