Power to the People

It would have been dad's 93rd birthday today - Happy birthday dad xx  Hope you're enjoying a special drop of whiskey.  I'm sure your buddies in BS corner will be raising their glasses to you too.

A foggy morning.......promising maybe...??  

Given the conditions, I decided today might be a good day to pop along to Lake Ohau which was a stunning drive with oodles of fog.  Loved this section where lots of pylons carry lots of the power that's created by the areas hydro power stations presumably to a sub-station somewhere.  Pylons and wires are everywhere here in the Mackenzie so today, instead of bemoaning their presence, I opted to make them the heroes of today's blip. There's another view of one in extras too.

When I arrived at Lake Oahu the fog was partially lifted and I actually had some sunshine for a brief period.  Unfortunately it romped down the lake and swamped Ben Ohau in what seemed like a matter of minutes so any plans to enjoy the views disappeared.  Hey ho...........great place to have a cup of tea though (sorry dad - no whiskey in the van!)
