Little and large
I spotted this tiny wine glass in a wee shop in York and bought it on a whim. I think it holds 75ml. I used it today when Muss PHL invited me to try chicken wine (*not made from actual chickens!), actually a rather delicious pale rose called La Veille Ferme as I only wanted a splash. It feels sufficiently silly for SillySaturday. Thanks to Laurie54 for hosting in memory of Admirer.
Our son and his wife have signed up for the Loch Ness marathon in September and their training plan required them to run 7 miles today so they went off before breakfast.
After we’d eaten Mr PHL took them to Costco and Phin and I had a nice walk round Newbattle. We all arrived home at the sane time and it was fun watching them play henga to fit everything they’d bought (which included a rather large office chair in a box) into their car.,
We had a light lunch of homemade butternut squash soup before Mr PHL popped into town to collect Miss PHL. After she opened her birthday gifts we all had a walk down the railway path with Phin.
Home for a glass of birthday bubbles and a snack before we got ready to head out for dinner at The Papermill in Lasswade. We used to visit quite frequently but haven’t managed to go in some time. It’s a family run business and does nice food. It was a nice meal although Miss PHL’s steak frites wasn’t as tender as she would have liked and the bill was rather high for what we had but I guess everything is more expensive these days!
We’d planned to have a slice of birthday cake at home but were all too full!
