Not another car rally...
...is perhaps what Abbi-dog was thinking? It's been a great day for motoring today. I drove over to Blakeney this morning where our camera club had arranged for us to take photos at Blakeney Garage who had organised a vintage Car Tour. About 17 vintage cars were taking part, visiting WWII airfields around Norfolk.
My extra shows a couple of cars leaving for the tour and an interesting 'hare' car mascot, which was featured on a couple of Alvis cars that were taking part. Apparently, the hare is renowned for its acceleration and turn of speed so was a natural choice for a car mascot design. Alvis Cars adopted the hare during the vintage period to reflect the performance of the immortal 12/50 model.
This afternoon M and I settled down to watch the British F1 Grand Prix which was celebrating 75 years. It was a really exciting race, the rain showers making it very unpredictable and really challenged the top 20 drivers in the world today.
