Baking again.

I haven’t been baking recently because I had a few times when my baking didn’t work out well. I got disillusioned and stopped baking. Norman and my Mahjong friends had to put up with shop bought cakes. However this week I had a change of heart and burst of enthusiasm and decided to have a go again. Today I have made a gingerbread, and it looks good! It is a 1940s recipe from my mother and has always been popular. My children used to call it Jinglebread.
My cooking equipment is old fashioned, particularly these lovely old scales. I also have a classic Kenwood Chef.
It was lucky the gingerbread didn’t get overcooked because I was engrossed in the Cameron Norrie match at Wimbledon. So pleased he eventually won.
