Crazy About Birds

Tiger Bee Fly

This is the third time I've blipped a tiger bee fly. The most recent before this was 7/7/2020, the one before that was 7/15/2019 (that was actually two of them - making more tiger bee flies). Evidently early to mid July is their time! They're big, but don't seem to be the least bit threatening. Evidently they are the most common parasite of the eastern carpenter bee - which goodness knows there are LOTS of around here.

This is not a black & white photo, by the way.
