Let lotus flowers bloom

Delighted to find five lotus flowers in our pond.
These flowers are rich in symbolism because of their ability to emerge from murky waters, unblemished and pristine, making them a   powerful symbol of resilience .
Given what’s happening in the world today I think we can all take heart from the lotus flower.
 
Meanwhile we were over for a reunion lunch in Callendar with some old friends going back over 50 years. Most of the group met up as returned volunteers with VSO  ( Volunteers Service Overseas) having worked in Africa and India and Pakistan.
 
Like the lotus flowers we have survived some tough stuff life has thrown at us.
