In harbour

That’s how it feels, having arrived beside Newhaven Harbour halfway through the evening after a protracted and rather horrid drive through dreadful traffic (Glasgow) and all-enveloping rain (Harthill). A long time ago in another dimension we went to church, sang a duet, talked to interesting people, came home, had a sandwich, filled the car with a ridiculous quantity of household goods (we bring our own sheets AND duvet!) …

All this is just to say that we eventually got here, to our annual week in Ewan’s house while they’re away. We made the bed, unpacked all the other gubbins, and went across the road for dinner on the harbour. And not long ago I realised I left my little rucksack in the restaurant - I do hope I get it back in the morning.

But for now, enough. I’m on my phone and it stifles eloquence. Did I mention I’m in bed …?
