Not mine, sadly

The snails seem to have accounted for all my sunflower attempts this year. This is beside where I park at the allotment. Isn’t it fabulous, and one of the few times during the day that the sun was out, and the sky blue. 
In the morning, mainly writing messages and cards, and catching up on the phone with a friend and my dil. 
A good friend and a cousin both had operations for cancer in the last few days. Everything feels quietly hopeful, though.
I spent most of the afternoon at the allotment, just weeding, tidying, cutting back, picking the last of the blackcurrants. Always something to do. It was mostly cloudy but a pleasant mild temperature. We are expecting 5 days of 29/30 in Bristol this week, hotter than London - usually it’s the other way around.  I confess I do rather dread it.
