Scoots, Shoots & Leaves

Stumped

This is what's left of our beautiful old apple tree. We lost it a few years ago when our neighbors' dead walnut tree fell and took it out, along with one of our plum trees. It was sad to see the trees go, they'd given us so much shade and joy, and were a part of some special times - our commitment ceremony for one.

But there's always a silver lining. We now have enough sunlight for solar panels and a sunny spot for our garden. Laurie (LaurieT), who retired from being a family childcare provider two years ago, worked so hard to create an accessible garden spot so I could garden in my wheelchair. I am loving growing vegetables and flowers, and having a lovely spot to hang out and enjoy the flora and fauna.

Extras: tomatoes and resident song sparrow, singing her heart out.
