Back Yam

On Saturday a trip with Rebecca and Jess to Cockermouth to have a walk around and see something of Cockermouth Live.
It was no coincidence that this included a visit to Jennings Brewery, which re-opened this week.
Jennings was bought up by Marstons in 2005, Marstons merged with Carlsberg and inevitably brewing was switched away from the Cockermouth Brewery and the iconic building was closed in 2022, it was a huge loss to the town.
It used to annoy me that the Jennings delivery trucks still advertised "Pure Lake District"  on their sides when in fact Jennings beers came from Burton on Trent!
However after a re-organisation at Carlsberg, Jennings was sold to two entrepreneurs who bought back all the rights including the old brewery and have re-opened the place.
And so a visit to the Tap room on Saturday which was packed out with bands playing and plenty of punters.
A pint of Back Yam (Yam = Home in Cumbrian) was the order of the day.
All the very best to Jennings brewing back where it belongs.
