Voracious Predator

Almost as if he came to say hello. This blue dasher dragonfly landed on a cane in front of me and waited patiently as I took his portrait. After the first snap, I took time finding the right angle and background. Also, balancing depth of field and shutter speed, because I was hand held. Nice one.

They feed on small insects, including mosquitoes, eating hundreds each day, for which I am thankful.
