Saying goodbye (part 1 of an unknown number)

It seems that saying goodbye to Folkie will take place over and over again. Each goodbye part of the journey of grief. She was so proud of the renovations on her home, her refuge from the world. Tonight friends will come to celebrate her in her own space and yet it is already so altered. Not just the missing pictures on the walls but by knowing she is not here. It is still hers and yet not quite. Not quite the space we enjoyed together and where we talked about creating a new space that would be ours.

Saying goodbye is a process and tonight is a step along the way. A hard step but one shared with a few of the many who loved her and continue to support me.


Folkie’s funeral will be on Friday 11th, at 11.30am UK. It’ll be live-streamed, if any of you would like to join us, or can be watched later on the same link.
