To the rescue!

I rescued a gannet today!
On the read near West Freugh I encountered a big white bird in the middle of the road this afternoon. Since the bird did not want to move off the road, I stopped the car to investigate. It turned out to be a young gannet, that appeared unable to fly. Rather than see it run over, I managed to catch it in my jacket and then drove to the vet in Stranraer. I handed it over to the veterinary nurse and hope they were able to look after it and get it sorted out.
It was a rather beautiful looking bird.
