Musing of a Lady

Eurostar to England

Our adventures have begun!

Little Man and I got a lift to Woerden station this morning with Mariska, a friend of ours, who lives locally. We got to the station and caught our train to Amsterdam. I'd hoped I'd be able to check in for our train journey with Eurostar, but we were there over an hour too early and ended up having to wait. We got a donut, for Little Man, and a drink for me, from Dunkin Donut.

We got to the UK terminal 15 minutes before check-in, with long lines already forming. One of the staff was directing people. Premium to the right and economy and economy plus to the left. I'd got economy tickets and was fully prepared to wait in the long economy line. However, one of the ladies directing everyone on where to stand, told me go join the premium line due to having Little Man and his pushchair. We got through far smoother than I could have imagined. The Dutch border force did ask if I consent from Little Man's dad to travel with him (I had a signed letter from him, which they accepted).

When we were going to board the train the staff bounced me to the front of the queue waiting for the lift, as it had been playing up and they only wanted to use it once. The journey itself was smooth, with the exception that my phone was having issues connecting to the roaming networks and Eurostar's WiFi was fussy about what I did.

We got to London and then traveled down to Gatwick, checked into our hotel and went to Little Man's Nannie and Granddad for dinner. We're on the bus back to the airport and our hotel.
