Back here again
After a night of Audrey monitoring mom’s temperature, she messaged at 5:20am to say that she felt we needed to make a doctors appointment.
I told her to call 111 and that would start the process.
Ambulance called and came very quickly. (Seemingly they had just been round the corner).
In A&E at 8am
First ambulance hand over, then room 16A&E, then about 1pm they said that she’d stay in and was moved to AAU room 15. A single room on her own. It was good. Then for no reason, moved to bay 10 (about 3pm). And everyone arrived onto the ward at the same time. It was bedlam!
Then at 8:20pm she was told she was going to be moved to Ward 10. (Where she had been the last time. My heart sank).
However, when finally on Ward 10 it was warm, quiet and settled (lights already out) and mom looked far more at ease and relaxed.
So… tomorrow Audrey and I will head in for 9am to hopefully catch the doc as he does his rounds. Just need to get her back home.
What I don’t understand is how an 87year old with dehydration can wait 5hrs before being put on fluids!?!
