On the wing
I dropped my car off at the repairer's this morning. I haven't had to take a car to smash repairers for more than 20 years. It was one I didn't know but recommended by the insurer. It was a slick outfit too so I feel confident they will do a good job. From there it was an uber to the hire car pick up. I had done all the registration online yesterday so all I had to do was give them my credit card for a deposit. They told me the insurer had paid for three weeks but I have found out this afternoon when it has all been approved that my car will be ready by the 17th.
It took me about 40 minutes to sort out the hire car working out how to blue tooth my phone, setting mirrors, radio stations, working out what side the petrol cap is. (It's an unleaded car). That done, I took it for a spin this afternoon down to the harbour and got my blip as there was a bit of a break in the clouds.
Maggy got a walk when I got home as she won't be able to travel in the hire car. I am going to ask T and R if they can take me and Maggy to the Hospital and aged care facility next week so we don't miss our visits. R has a visit at the Nexus unit at the hospital next week so maybe we can time it so we go together. I visit a different ward to him but go in the morning usually.
I stopped at Bar Beach lookout on the way home to see if I could see any whales. No whales to be seen. Two young ladies on their phones. I see that flares are back in fashion.
